groupies without flashing the...
Friday... jenn had her farewell dinner at this cute little spot...art gallery/restaurant. Following dinner we headed up town to ojos de agua in search of live music. We found a band named " sergeant garcia and the columbia mufin allstars" we knew nothing of this band but we knew it was music en vivo, which, for some reason is really hard to come by within the city of La Paz. We debated on not going because the 130Bs cover was a little ateep (only 30 american dollars). We then agreed to just go for it. Once we stepped inside, we had a good feeling about our night to come. The people that continued to fill the joint were our people... a mix of hippees, rastafarians, hikers, local bolivians and more! The event began with a sacred offering to mama pachu with male spiritual dancers from Tiwanouco(plz excuse mispelling) and the MC was dressed in a bolivian pattern poncho who carried a large sack of coca leaves. When the band finally began at 11 mas o menos... it was awesome. The sound I have been waiting to hear the entire trip... a mix of cuban, columbian and reggae. Pure bliss, I tell you, pure bliss! The show went on for a few hours, we had to take a voluntary intermission to de-robe, stuffing phones, wallets and shirts in my boots, boobs and butt. (Theft is no joke in this town and I didn't want to chance it) After the live show came to an end... jenn and I were on a mission to find some water and a shirt. The venders at the door were no longer there and the store across the street was now closed. We had to make a decisicion... clench our thirst, or fulfill my need of one more addition to my closet. Im sure you can guess what route i chose......
